The Offspring, one of the world’s most famous punk rock bands, is coming to Seinäjoki this summer. The American band’s world tour “Let The Bad Times Roll” will be seen on Saturday 10.6.2023 at OmaSp Stadium in Seinäjoki. The Stadionfest Rock Edition event will also feature Klamydia, one of the most popular punk bands in Finland, as well as Cyan Kicks, who were seen in last year’s UMK competition.
The Offspring, the renowned punk rock band, have been awaited in Finland for years. The band consists of singer Dexter Holland, guitarist Noodles, drummer Pete Parada and new bassist Todd Morse. Their most famous songs are “Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, “Self Esteem” and “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid”. The band has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling punk rock bands.
The Offspring have gained notoriety over the years with their recognizable sound and attention-grabbing comments. The band first achieved worldwide success in 1994 with their hit album “Smash”, which sold over 11 million copies. The numerous hits on the album became iconic throughout the 90s, bringing punk rock into the mainstream.
The band has in its three decades of career toured the world’s biggest arenas and built a large international fan base. In Finland, the band was last seen in 2019, so the upcoming summer event has been anticipated for years. Released in 2021, “Let the Bad Times Roll” is the band’s tenth studio album and third album produced by the legendary Bob Rock.
In addition to the American band The Offspring, rock bands from Finland will also be performing. As support acts we will see the Vaasa-based Klamydia and the Helsinki-based Cyan Kicks.
Nordic Live Productions, the event organizer, is excited to have The Offspring as the headliner of the event. The event will be organized in cooperation with local partners Stadionfest, Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho and W-Mediat Management, the background company of OmaSp Stadion. Tommi Mäki, the CEO and promoter of Nordic Live Productions, is thrilled to have The Offspring as headliner.
“We have been looking for big rock bands for this event for a year and The Offspring was our first choice. We are expecting the event to be sold out,” Mäki says.
The new event is also a continuation of the successful collaboration with OmaSp Stadion. “Last summer, we moved the 10-year Solar Sound Festival to OmaSp Stadion, and now the announced rock-focused event is a natural follow-up to this successful partnership,” Mäki rejoices.
Tickets for the event are now available on Ticketmaster! The age restriction for the event is 18+.
